A Personalized Physical Therapy Experience.
My philosophy:
I believe in treating runners as well rounded, durable athletes. My approach is holistic and I work with you to identify the root of injury, versus treating symptoms. As a lifelong competitive runner, I understand the importance of how running fits into your life and I guide you towards sustainable running and putting longevity at the forefront of what we do.
Working with me is a personalized experience. I meet runners where they are in their training, goals, and life to come up with a proactive plan to manage running injury and return to racing pain free. My goal is to help you become the most resilient version of yourself through this process.

In Person @ Renegade Running in Oakland, CA
1 hour appointment
A comprehensive initial evaluation is required for the first visit to collect an in-depth history of injuries, a thorough physical exam, a running specific series of tests to identify muscle imbalances, and a running gait assessment if applicable. A plan of care is established at the end of the visit with a personalized home exercise program. Treatment will be provided during the session as necessary. An initial evaluation is recommended for individuals who have never been seen for their injury, are not sure what they need, and don’t know where to start.
A physical therapy follow up (55 minute) includes all manual therapy treatment as necessary on a case by case basis. Follow up sessions are beneficial to either refine, progress, or regress exercises. Careful time is invested in ensuring exercises are done correctly.

Telehealth is a great option for patients to receive professional advice regarding injuries, be virtually evaluated, and to receive individualized home exercises. Gait assessments are available for runners who want to optimize their running form to improve efficiency and decrease risk of injury. Full injury history, physical examination, and running goals will be taken into consideration when modifying running form. Running metrics will be recorded with Run Scribe and RunEasi. A home exercise program is included in this appointment.
FAQs
Where are you located?
45 Grand Ave, Oakland, CA 94612
Are you contracted with insurance companies?
I am an out of network provider. Please see below for information on insurance reimbursement for out of network providers.
Why aren’t you contracted with insurance companies?
A cash based practice allows physical therapists the freedom to provide patients with top quality care they need and deserve, without waiting weeks and months to see a provider. Insurance companies reimburse physical therapy less each year, which consequently means conventional PT clinics need to see more patients per day to offset the costs. You cannot provide the highest quality of care with shorter appointment times and with a high number of patients. In my experiences of working in a cash based PT practice, I am confident I can get you better in fewer visits.
Do I need a physicians referral?
No; California is a direct access state. You can be seen for physical therapy without a physicians referral. If you need care beyond 12 visits or 45 days (whichever comes first), then you need to be seen by a physician.
Can insurance reimburse me for this out of network visit?
Contact your insurance to check if you have out of network benefits! Insurance companies are transparent about this information and should take little time to figure out. Insurance companies that do not reimburse are medicare and medicaid.
What do I need to submit for insurance reimbursement?
I will provide you an itemized receipt with all necessary billing codes to submit.
Do you accept HSA and FSA?
Yes! You can either pay with the card given to you (just like any other card payment) or I can provide you a superbill to submit for reimbursement.
Do you treat non running related injuries?
Yes! I am an orthopedic physical therapist and have experience treating neck and upper extremity injuries.
How often should I come to physical therapy?
Depends on the injury. Usually every 2 weeks for runners who are currently having pain while running or are unable to run. 1x/month for runners who can still maintain goal mileage, but want to prevent injury or have low level, manageable pain.
